Living in the Energy You Want: How to Embody Your Future Before It Arrives

I spent years working within the CBT framework, both in the NHS and private practice. I saw incredible breakthroughs, real shifts in how people understood their thoughts and behaviours. But I also saw the limits.

Time and again, clients would leave sessions with clarity, with tools, with insight, and yet something wasn't quite clicking. They understood what needed to change. They could see the life they wanted. But they couldn't quite feel it. They couldn't embody it.

That's when I began exploring beyond the traditional therapeutic model, weaving in intuitive practice, energy work, and the concept that would become central to everything I do now: you cannot think your way into transformation. You have to embody it.

This understanding led me to create The Little Powerful Company, and it sits at the heart of one of the most transformative modules in The Little Powerful Course: living in the energy of what you want before it arrives in your reality.

The Gap Between Knowing and Being

How many times have you visualised the life you want? You've seen yourself confident, thriving, living with purpose. You've imagined the relationships, the work, the version of yourself that feels aligned and free.

But when you open your eyes, when you move through your day, does your body believe it?

Does your nervous system feel safe in that version of your life? Or does it brace, tense, pull you back into the familiar patterns that keep you small?

This is the gap between knowing and being. Between visualisation and embodiment.

You can think about transformation endlessly. You can write it down, talk about it, plan for it. But if your body doesn't feel safe in that new energy, if your nervous system still believes the old story, nothing shifts.

Why Embodiment Changes Everything

When I work with clients in one to one coaching or guide them through The Little Powerful Course, we don't just explore what they want. We explore how it feels to already have it.

Because here's what I've learned after more than 15 years in mental health and transformation work: manifestation isn't about forcing something into existence. It's about living as if it's already true.

When you live in the energy of what you want, when you embody it in your daily movements, choices, and responses, your nervous system begins to recalibrate. It starts to believe that this version of you, this version of your life, is not only possible but real.

And that's when manifestation becomes natural rather than forced.

Visualization plants the seed. You see what you want, you connect to the vision. But embodiment makes it real in your system. It moves the transformation from your mind into your lived experience.

There are no limits to what you can have. Your mind is the only barrier. And the way we shift that barrier isn't by thinking harder, it's by feeling differently, by moving differently, by practicing being the person who already has what you desire.

What This Looks Like in Daily Life

Let me give you some practical examples, because embodiment can sound abstract until you see it in action.

Imagine you want to feel more confident. You've visualised yourself walking into rooms with ease, speaking up without second guessing, trusting your own worth.

Embodiment asks: how does that version of you move through the world? How do they hold their body when they walk? How do they breathe when they speak? What does their energy feel like when they make decisions?

You start practicing those movements, those breath patterns, that energy, now. Not when you finally feel confident. Now.

Or perhaps you want a more creative, spacious life. You've visualised the mornings where you wake without rushing, where you have time to write, to create, to simply be.

Embodiment asks: what would it feel like to move through today as if that's already your reality? How would you prioritise differently? Where would you create space, even just five minutes, to honour that version of your life?

You might want a deeply connected relationship. You've seen yourself loved, seen, valued exactly as you are.

Embodiment asks: how does someone who knows their worth show up in relationships? How do they communicate their needs? How do they hold boundaries? What energy do they bring to connection?

You practice that now. You embody the energy of being loved and valued by first living as someone who values themselves.

This isn't pretending. This isn't fake it till you make it. This is recognising that your body holds the key to transformation, and when you teach it to feel safe in the energy you want, everything begins to shift.

When Therapeutic Principles Meet Movement

In my work, I've seen that movement is often where understanding truly begins. Not intellectual understanding, but embodied knowing.

In yoga, in dance, in any practice where we move with intention, we don't just stretch muscles. We explore patterns. We notice how we hold tension, where we brace, where we avoid sensation, how we return to breath.

When therapeutic principles meet physical movement, something shifts. Awareness moves from the mind into lived experience.

Sometimes insight doesn't arrive through thinking harder. Sometimes it arrives when the body finally feels safe enough to soften.

This is the space I'm interested in exploring with you, whether through The Little Powerful Course or in our one to one sessions. Not fixing, not forcing, just listening differently. Listening to what your body is telling you about where you feel stuck, where you feel ready, where the transformation wants to happen.
